Watching Television–causing more bad than good?

One of the greatest inventions in the history of mankind related to information and entertainment is television. The world is being viewed as a global or shared village where in everyone can have an access through the use of television. It’s not just the international news; TV is a good source of entertainment too. We can watch movies, various serials and other entertainment programs too.

In spite of these great uses, there is an argument stating that the problems caused by TV are more compared to the advantages. The first one is a negative utilization of time factor. Though the intention with which we start watching is good, we may end up in watching useless programs and movies most of the time. And we end up watching TV for a longer time than that we originally planned.

Surprisingly, many viewers claim that they watch television due to its power and not the content. This implies doing activities like eating snacks or something similar while watching. A recently study indicated that the men who watch TV more hours a day are comparatively more obese than those who do not watch it for more hours.

It is proved that the attentive and imaginative powers are reduced by watching TV. This is because people become impatient due to the weakening of attention. Considering these things, one may feel that TV, though one of the best sources of information and entertainment is causing more bad than good.
